Slipping Through

The structure of solid matter is mostly empty space, with each atom having great gulfs of distance between the nucleus and each electron in orbit.  What if there was a slight change in that bond?

Solid ground,
Such a delicate thing,
Atoms bound,
On an energy string,
Delicate bonding,
Lighter than air,
But you don’t care,
You don’t care.

Take for granted,
What you can see,
Not foreseeing,
What could be,
A slight imbalance,
In the weak embrace,
And nothing holds you,
In time and space.

Flaming,
Raining,
Sight and sound,
Burning,
Turning,
No up and down,
Dreaming,
Screaming,
No dark or light,
No hot or cold,
Left or right.

Hands of time,
The sweetest peace,
No reason rhymes,
No sweet release,
The void within,
Is hope without,
No leverage point,
To turn about.

Matter’s grip,
Slipping fast,
A vision scene,
Through quantum glass,
The Earth dissolves,
All faces gone,
Dimensions shatter,
Fall through matter.
Faster,
Faster,
Falling,
Falling,
Senses shattered,
Time is scattered,
Flaming,
Flaming,
Through energies fall,
Nothing,
Nothing,
Brightness of black,
Silence of scream,
No going back,
Inescapable dream.

No up or down,
Left or right,
Light or dark,
In endless flight,
In freefall up,
Through sky below,
Reality gone,
No soul could know.

Our grip is weak,
To earthly world,
One tiny slip,
Through darkness hurled,
Our only grip,
Right from the start,
Comes through love,
Through the heart.

Flaming,
Raining,
Sight and sound,
Burning,
Turning,
No up and down,
Living,
Loving,
The only way,
The balance holds,
The living day.
