Scope

When the winds come,

I hear leaves scratching the sky,

While storm covers the stars at night.

Where the dark embraces warmth,

And the clouds conceal the sky,

I find my heart embracing the light.

For the heart is boundless,

And it can embrace,

An endless number of skies.

In the love of life,

It does give chase,

To the burning questions of why.

Why does such beauty,

Who could have anyone,

Love one such as me?

Why do the birds,

Take love of flight,

When they know they are always free?

We have explored so much,

Yet so much of life,

Is not quite what it seems,

For as we sleep,

We meet other souls,

Confusing memories for our dreams.

A love of life,

Creates the love of light,

Both gifts from the heart of God,

So limits of understanding,

Fall apart and away,

For with love nothing is at odds.

 Love is the fire,

Behind understanding,

Giving hearts and imaginations scope.

Binding souls together,

Beyond life and death,

Love is the reason for hope.
