Anomaly

So many I know have passed away recently that I feel surrounded by death.  Thinking of that yesterday while waiting for the doors of my work to be opened, I pulled out a notepad and wrote this.  The image is simply titled the first man made anomaly, but the truth of life floating in the backdrop of space is the greatest anomaly and miracle of all.

Life is an anomaly,
Surrounded by death,
A warmth of motion,
In the cold dark of space,
A breath of air,
Within a still vacuum,
Biological energy,
Amidst a sterile expanse,
Many factors in balance,
Too many to contemplate,
In too narrow a range,
Where the slightest variation,
Would end the magic,
Yet the balance continues,
And here we are.
